The story
TAMBA is a party game made by one person. Rodell designs, illustrates and writes every card himself, and is building the whole app in London. The name is a West African family name he picked because it sounded good. Some time after launch, his grandmother let him know it also means something considerably more cheeky. It stuck.
The game is built for the room. One phone works for the whole table, nobody sits through a tutorial, and the point is what happens between the people, not what happens on the screen. It's rooted in Black British and West African culture because that's where it comes from, not because a brand deck said so.
The pricing is the part the big party apps won't copy. No ads. No subscriptions. Games released free stay free forever, and £4.99 once buys everything, for life, including every game added after. In a category built on monthly billing, TAMBA treats that as a position worth stating out loud.
